New Paradigm is one of only a few programs across New York State that uses the Penile Plethysmograph Test (PPG), or phallometry, in order to directly assess a person’s erectile changes to a wide range of deviant sexual stimuli. The PPG has been described as:
“The most longstanding, widely employed, and empirically–supported method of assessing deviant sexual arousal, interests, and preferences … Researchers have demonstrated strong associations between phallometric measures of deviant sexual arousal/interests and sexual and violent recidivism…”

New Paradigm offers this test to outpatient offenders. The test can be used as part of a full psychosexual assessment completed by New Paradigm or in conjunction with another evaluator’s or treatment program’s assessment, or both. New Paradigm professionals can administer the test on site in Albany or travel to your location.
